Created in 2005, Encore.org’s Purpose Prize has awarded nearly $5,000,000 to changemakers age 60 and older who are using their skills and experience to advance the social good. Read more about the six 2014 winners, who were awarded a total of $300,000.

The panel of jurors is looking to honor and acknowledge individuals who are committed to improving the lives of others. They welcome applicants making a difference in all sectors, including those working with children and youth and in financial inclusion. Encore strives to ensure that our Purpose Prize winners come from a range of diverse communities – and they encourage you to think about people in your network deserving this kind of recognition.
