Waldoboro, June 8, 4:00 – 7:00 pm

ArtWalk Waldoboro celebrates its fifth year anniversary with the first event of this 2019 season on Saturday, June 8th, 4 – 7 pm. Participating venues include art studios, galleries, and other businesses, all with their own unique celebration plans. Art Walk supports are the Town of Waldoboro and First National Bank of Waldoboro.
Pam Cabanas at the Customs House

Artist Pam Cabañas exhibits her paintings and drawings at the Customs House, a unique and historic Waldoboro venue, for this event, courtesy of Markham and Read, Attorneys-at-Law.
Pam sees her "paintings as reflections of my awkward dance through life, love and Maine. I hope the work is evocative of mood and emotion.
Philippe Guillerm Gallery
882 Main Street
The Philippe Guillerm Gallery hosts its first show of the season, “Lets Think About Our Planet”, a collection of 2018/ 2019 Sculptures and Paintings by French-born artist Philippe Guillerm, whose work is greatly influenced by his sailing season in the Caribbean Islands where he is always in search of special pieces of driftwood that he will transform, many times onsite, into wonderful pieces of art.
The Waldo Theatre

The Waldo Theatre offers tours of the theatre, freshly popped popcorn, and a rotation of established and up-and-coming performing artists this ArtWalk season. For the June ArtWalk they are welcoming back local Waldoboro musicians Joe and Lindsay Cough as the first in their 2019 series. This couple offers a range of eclectic and synergistic talent: Joe is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, conductor, and educator who specializes in French melodies and uses his spinto tenor vocal technique across many musical genres and Lindsay is an accomplished
singer and Norwegian hardanger fiddler.
Tidemark Gallery & Café

The Tidemark Gallery & Cafe kicks off 2019’s ArtWalk season with a show of new paintings by Doug Frati, pieces with a simple elegance originating from life’s enjoyment and observation. The Tidemark’s artists are local, the art is carefully chosen, and the same goes for their coffee, pastries, sandwiches and salads.
Heywood Gallery
912 Main Street
The Heywood Gallery features American Realist Anne Heywood’s expressive landscapes, still lifes, and pet portraits for the June ArtWalk, offering to everyone who purchases an original piece of art a chance to enter into a special drawing for a $200 Gallery gift certificate. Heywood has recently been honored with inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who Top Professionals in their Top Educators and Top Artists categories.
Medomak Arts

“Boats, Planes, Trains, Bikes, Carts, Donkeys, Skis and Any Mode of Transportation You Have Ever Seen” is the theme for the new exibit on display at Medomak Arts during the June ArtWalk. These depictions by local artists will capture your imagination and challenge your vision of transportation.
Waldoborough Historical Society

The Waldoborough Historical Society will be open extra hours from noon to 6 P.M. on Saturday, June 8th for ArtWalk. Historical art and new photos of the German Church will be on exhibit in the Hauck/Bailey Building as well as several Waldoboro signs from the past hanging in the Richard Wallace Barn. No admission fee.
Barstow Farms Country Store

Along with fresh meats, eggs, milk, and cheeses from their farm and other local farms, Barstow’s offers special “Carry and Go” menu items for the June ArtWalk Waldoboro, including ArtWalk Crab Dip with toast points, ArtWalk scallops wrapped in bacon, and ArtWalk Barstow Burger made with their own farm raised burger. Photographs of Jan Griesenbrock are also on display in the store.
Moody’s Diner

In 1927, it looked as though Waldoboro, Maine might be getting some automobile traffic from folks headed north up US Route 1. It seemed like a good idea to build a couple of cabins to see if we could find any weary travelers looking for a clean, inexpensive place to stay the night.
Now, ninety years later, we are very pleased to have served over a million people in our motel and diner. Moody’s Diner is an official participant in the 2019 ArtWalk.Moody Pie will be $2.99/slice from 4-7pm on June 8th during the ArtWalk.
Morse’s Sauerkraut & European Deli

It has been over 100 years since that first barrel of sauerkraut was cut, and though its production has remained the same, Morse’s has grown. For this June 8th ArtWalk Day, from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm, Morse’s restaurant is offering an ArtWalk special, the Reubenesque Sandwich, a plump & pleasing pile of turkey bacon & sauerkraut on toasted rye with slaw & pretzel. The store with Morse’s own sauerkraut, deli items, and other delicious offerings is open until 6:00 pm.
The BugTussleAnnex

The BugTussleAnnex Co-Working Space in the heart of Waldoboro’s Historic Village District is opening for the June ArtWalk with tours of the Annex , including information about membership and day passes for those needing Internet access while visiting the Midcoast area. The BugTussle will host its first Art Exhibition next month for the July 13th ArtWalk.
Narrow’s Tavern
15 Friendship Street
The best little Tavern in Maine is open for the June ArtWalk with a Late Night Menu until 11pm. The Narrows is a place to go to swap stories, have a beer, enjoy a meal, play cribbage, and listen to music. The burgers, haddock Ruben, and nachos are considered some of the best around.

 

East Forty Farm

East Forty Farm is a diversified family farm, producing Lakin’s Gorges Cheese, raising pork and duck and offering classes and monthly suppers.
Located on the Medomak River, you can stroll the grounds to see the livestock and walk to the shore. The farm store will be open on ArtWalk evenings. You are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy sitting under the grape arbor as the sun sets.
